The zero failure environment is unenforcable. Point blank, how is this a program failure? How is this anyone's fault but the parties involved? This Sergeant is a monster, the privates were idiots, and the unnamed parties paying for it all are exploiting it. So, this gang of idiots, what, now they speak for us all? No. Spare me the sound bite and the public relations nonsense. Of course it looks bad, ofcourse this is a tragedy for all involved. But, SGM, does this mean we all failed? This is exactly why UCMJ, CID, and if needs be Courts Martial is for. Sounds to me, this got tied up as good as it was ever going to be. At least they were caught and punished. You cannot litigate morality, and honestly, I'm getting a little sick and tired of punishing the whole for the idiocy of the few. We have laws, we have free will, break those laws willingly and reap the whirlwind. Simple as that.

SFC (Join to see) - unless he's a successful recruiter. Seen it in 95 or 96 at the Sacramento ban. Same thing and drugs and only two sergeants lost their job, station commander stayed and two e-5's gone because they were a top recruiting station.

There are times when programs fail but people posses free will. So upon occasion someone is going to really screw the pooch. Individuals need to held to account rather than trying to drag everyone down with the sinking ship.

The article mentions numerous times about parties with higher ups and senior ranking people.....Really? Where are those indictments? Those involved should be forced to testify or charged with obstruction. I'm also sickened by the pure victim tone of the article. Those poor young female Soldiers know right from wrong, and chose the easy wrong. Forced into it? Not once did I read it was at gun point or physical harm occurred (or so the story fails to mention)....not one displayed Army Values or a degree of Personal Courage (sic:moral courage) to speak up before pimping themselves? Shaking it for money? Dancing or stripping for money? I'd argue they aren't nor ever were Army material because they lacked courage to speak up early, lacked trust to seek help for their "money woes" from reputable sources, heaven forbid even one went to a chaplain! They should be brought up on charges too and not seen as pure victims. A lesser charge such as Accomplices to solicitation and prostitution would be fitting provided they provide witness and testimony, then they can plea their sentences; but no less than out of the Army they must go too. The scumbag SFC deserves so much more and I'm disgusted by looking at his picture knowing he had a 1SG or CSM that could have looked at his fat face and known he didn't meet minimum Army standards and they were ignorant enough to allow him a position of trust? Way too often Special Staff weenies at multiple echelons aren't scrutinized at the same level or degree we expect and demand from PFCs and SPCs; especially in line units. Finally, I'm a firm believer all those positions: SHARP, EO, IG, Retention,....they all must be for no more than 2 years max and only AFTER Platoon Sergeant time with quality ratings and then still checked up on. Now a days, most people see their EO & SHARP reps and say...."Damned glad he/she ain't MY Platoon Sergeant"

Young adults away from the supporting environment of home are ideal subjects for exploitation. Easy pickings because they don't have enough life experiences. Green. Predators can have a happy Hunting Ground in the military because of its insular nature. Military life is 24/7. Don't think that it doesn't make a difference. Its not like a civilian job where you can walk away if you don't like it. It makes me sick to think of our female warriors being exploited like that. It is a black eye for the military. Parents worry enough when their kid takes the vow to defend this country. They should NOT have to worry about a Predator wearing the uniform. I hope Ft Hood CLEANS HOUSE!

Special staff weenies? You lump all NCOs in with THIS PIECE OF CRAP? You do realize that retention is an MOS, not a 2 year filler position? You belittle all NCOs that manage a Commander's program? While I find most of your post dead on accurate, you allowed your rant to go to far and insult NCOs that have nothing to do with what the article was even about.

And on top of that, each program you mentioned is the Commander's program; whose teammate is the CSM. The CAM is typically the rarer for each of these Special Staff NCOs. So, if these NCOs are hot garbage and offer nothing to the Army, as you seem to insinuate, then I say it is the CSMs fault. Rate accurately and those problem NCOs would be washed out in many different ways. But, that seems to be a very difficult task in today's Army.
