One of the first mistakes veterans make is they write a resume that looks like page 1 of their military performance reports. Employers can google what an infantry job description looks like. They want page 2...how were you a rick star in that job? What did you do to put your thumbprint on the job?

Is it because Veterans speak military and corporations speak civilian?

I don't know if we can point to any "one" thing but I think that's certainly a factor.

I'd agree to some sense, however if the vet can tone down if you will, or acclimate to civilian workforce. They will thrive.

Another route is for the vet to go into a DOD field or para military organization... all of my supervisors for law enforcement here in Virginia (no age cap) are ex military, and thrive. Some leave other civilian jobs to join law enforcement because we have a militant culture.

I agree that's one issue...
I also think a lot of people don't know how to help and vice versa, a lot of Veterans don't know how to communicate their talents so they can be understood by those in positions to help.
