That is about right - it illustrates the decline in education, discipline, and critical thinking that was the norm them. We have largely become a society of air-heads.

@Erin Nelson I think the hardest things to explain would be inflation, de-segregation, women working jobs that in the 50's would have been unheard of. Korea, Vietnam, Desert Shield/Storm, Grenada Beirut, Iranian hostages, World Trade Center, GWOT, Unabomber. Once the initial shock wore off, then you could start introducing things like computers. Being the nerd I am, of course the first thing would need to be a Star Wars Marathon so that the poor bastard is caught up.
