Dan currently enjoys his retirement in San Diego CA and is pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice at ITT Technical Institute. Dan spends a great deal of time with his semiprofessional Photography business and remains active in veteran’s issues and charitable organizations. Dan is a Co-founder of the nonprofit organization “Huddle up for Heroes”. He also enjoys camping, trips to the beach and working with computers. Dan has never married and has no children. Dan’s role models include, his father, mother, Ronald Reagan, John Wayne, Apollo space program Astronauts, master photographer, Peter Lik, Denyce Edwards and all American patriots. Dan Joined the California Army National Guard shortly after the end of his last enlistment with the United States Marine Corps in early 1998 continuing his military career as a M1A1 Tank Crewman. Dan attended the Army SINGARS Communication School in 2000. During the period from Sept 2002 thru May 2004, Dan was mobilized with “B company, 1/149 Armor, 40th Infantry Division to help safeguard the nation from further attacks after 9/11 2001. Dan performed the following duties: React to Bomb Threat, React to Intruder, React to Unknown Threat, Evacuation, Repel Attack, React to Chemical Threat, Detain Suspect, Search and Seizure, Law Enforcement Activities, Mounted Patrol, Dismounted Patrol, Room and Structure Clearing by Search and Fire, Friend or Foe Identification, Civil Disturbance

Sergeant Daniel William Porcupile was born the only son of Gardner and Betty Porcupile in Yuma Arizona in 1968. Gardner Leroy Porcupile, Dan’s father, was a surviving crewmember of the USS Indianapolis disaster in 1945. Keeping with Family values and tradition, being the only son of a man of the “greatest generation”, Dan enlisted in the U S Marine Corps in 1985 when he was just 17 years old during High School. Dan Graduated from Galena Park High School, Galena Park TX. In 1986. Dan attended basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD), San Diego, California, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, platoon 1099.
