SFC William Sutherland III

I went into the Army in February 1972, and ETS in January 1974. After basic I was transferred to Germany for 5th Corps. After 3 months there I was accepted on the Army’s and Air Force AFRC Ski Team. Serving in Garmisch, and later Berchtesgaden until I ETS in Jan 1974. Three weeks later I was teaching skiing in Northern California. I later moved back to Germany and taught skiing again in upper Bavaria, in Berchtesgaden. After moving to Bad Toelz I joined the Active Reserves from 1978 until my Retirement in 2010. In the time, as an Active Reservist, I had served in near Heidelberg, Stuttgart, Munich, Garmisch, Bad Toelz, Netherlands, and Darmstadt. Korea, Desert Storm, Iraq, NJ, PA, VA Pentagon, Texas,and back to Germany.

(2005). I had been chosen in 2001 to report on Nationwide, and was an IMA at the Pentagon. Later after 20 years of paying German taxes and eating schnitzels, I sold what I had and moved back to the US. In the 20 years after owning a Bar and three photo studios in Bavaria, I was happy and sad to I moved back. In 1996 I accepted a position as Marketing Manager and later Director, only to be interrupted by the Iraq War.
