I transferred from the USS Mauna Loa AE-8 to the Commissioning detail of the USS Forrestal CVA-59 by my request. I was part of the commissioning crew of this great Naval Carrier. I was stationed in the personnel department. Our job was to take care of the records of our 3500 man crew. This was a sailor's dream come true duty station. Great duty.
