Master Sergeant J. Michael Briney is the Section Chief, Cable Maintenance, 325th Communications Squadron, 325th Mission Support Group, 325th Fighter Wing, Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida. In this capacity, he leads and supervises 6 technicians maintaining 68K pair-miles of underground copper and fiber optic cabling valued at $12M. He is also responsible for maintaining backbone infrastructure for the Air Force's only F-22 pilot training squadron, flying over 3.6K sorties a year and DoD's only full-scale weapon system evaluation program. Sergeant Briney grew up in Pensacola, Florida, and entered the Air Force in June, 1997. His background includes numerous leadership roles at the squadron, group, wing, and combatant command levels. He has been stationed at locations in North Carolina, Mississippi, Idaho, Iraq, Kuwait, the United Kingdom and Greenland. He has worked a variety of information and knowledge operations management duties. Before assuming his current position, he served as the Superintendent, Operations Flight with the 325th Communications Squadron.
