Bio
Enlisted in the US Army in June 1968. Basic training at Ft. Bragg, then AIT at Ft Dix, NJ. Armed services entry test scores were high enough for me to attaend Army Infantry OCS at Ft. Benning Ga from Nov. 69 to May 70. Assigned to US Army Advanced Infantry trainging 3rd Brig at Ft. Polk La. Begged to go to Vietnam and was sent to Benning for Heavy weapons platoon ldr. training. Then RVN Nov.

Assigned as mortar platoon leader, Co E, 3rd Bn 187th Inf Regt. 101st Abn Div. Assigned as platoon leader, 1st infantry platoon Co D 3/187/101. WIA Aug 8, 1970 and med-evaced back to Ft. Bragg, NC. In hospital and rehab until Jan 1071. Assigned to 6th USA SFG at Bragg while on limited duty. Sent to Airborne school April 71.
