Retired U.S.C.G. Naval Engineer (CWO4/ENG4) after 25+ years. Worked at CG HQ as a civilian (GS-0346-13) performing as the Logistics and Configuration Mgr for 225' JUNIPER and 175' KEEPER Class Buoy Tenders and 25' DEFENDER (25' RB- S / 25' RB-HS) Class Acquisition programs. Left CG HQ in 2007 to be the Engineering Configuration Manager for the Marinette Marine Corp USCG RB-M and USN LCS programs.

Responsible for ship configurations, review and management of system and equipment technical manuals and documentation, spare and repair parts procurement and outfitting data, shipboard system and equipment sight validations, logistics databases, and Govt reviews and responses to contractor for contractual Integrated Logistics Support deliverables.

USCG LORAN Station Port Clarence, AK (Isolated duty - Arctic)
US Coast Guard Long Range Aids-to-Navigation (LORAN) Station (isolated duty) at the Arctic circle in Alaska for 16 months as the Chief Engineer and Command Enlisted Advisor. Responsible for all facilities (6 habitable buildings, 1 electronics/transmitter/antenna building, heavy duty equipment shed [road and runway maintenance and snow removal equipment, C-130 aircraft heaters and auxiliary power units]); 1300' transmitter antenna; power generation; heating and cooling; 1m gallon water collection, purification and treatment system; wastewater treatment plant; >125k fuel storage and transfer system; and two miles of runway. All facilities maintained to State of Alaska, USCG, and FAA standards. Responsible for 13 engineering and deck personnel; logistics of fuel, spare and repair parts, water entrapment and storage for next replacement crew to last minimum of 13 months.
