My rating was an Engineman working in the auxiliary engineering department on Spruance Class Destroyers. I worked with, hydraulics, pneumatics, air conditioning, refrigeration, heating, sea water desalination, sewage treatment, all types of engines, especially small boat engines, repairing other ships with above problems, Rescue and Recovery, small arms, hand to hand combat and Recruiting Duty. Certified Advanced AutoCAD R-14. Making 3 Dimensional blueprints using computers for civilian and military purposes.

Maintaining and repairing ship auxiliary equipment on the ships I was stationed on and repairing other ships various engineering problems on the West Coast, rescuing downed pilots, recovering various naval equipment, shop supervisor, recruiter and too much more to list. If I told you, I'd have to kill you...LOL!

Been on three Western Pacific Cruises. Two on the USS Oldendorf DD-972 and one on the USS Hector AR-7. Maintained peace in the region, show of US Navy force in the nations around. Repaired both military and civilian ships and land based engineering equipment during the Cold War. Not to mention, I had a lot of fun too :-)
