Line Corpsman
I signed up for a 2 year active, 2 year reserve contract and deployed once. As a Navy Corpsman with a line Marine Unit I can only reflect on the professionalism the members of my platoon showed. Stateside I performed sick-call and trained with my unit. While deployed I think the best summary of the situation was provided by our Company Commander, Cpt. Laing- "95 percent boredom, 5 percent violence, pain and chaos".
The most persistent problems I faced, as a medic, were bug bites and fevers. I served as the members of my platoon did most of time, until I was needed as 'Corpsman'.
