Bio

After retirement became a JROTC Instructor for four years, very good things happened there. Have since become the Quality Assurance/Safety Manager in a growing company. Had an EPA in May, then later this year an OSHA complaint and inspections. We passed both investigations with flying colors. Every company needs a Gunny!

HMH 462. GySgt, Airframes Division Chief. About freakin time! Great UDP, good squadron. On the way there I Called our OIC a "Boot MF" in Alaska. The phrase caught on. Best award/Achievement? The plaque my Marines presented me when I left. "Thanks for everything you BMF". Painted our new squadron patch on the hanger in Futima. It shamed the others.

After a tour on recruiting duty I re-joined HMH 465. I'd rather have gone back to Beirut! SNCOIC of Metal Shop/Hydraulics. Learned about a practice called "cock swabbing", and no cooperation from the SSgt Hydraulic "expert", as our MOS' were combined while I was recruiting. Learned from L/Cpl's. More politics then I'd ever imagined possible. WTF?

HMH 465, Sgt. NCOIC of metal shop. No need for a SSgt, when you have a good Sergeant! Major accomplishment was that none of my Marines ever faced official disciplinary action. We handled our business and made aircraft fly. Self deployed to some rat hole in Korea. I didn't like lining up in a tent for a shower and posed as an officer. Ha!

HMH 465 Gulf War. Sgt. Metal Shop. Dried out rotten tents, hot days, cold nights, SNCOIC was an incurable alcoholic, ended up in hospital because of "home" brew. Invented and implemented a structural repair to bring 8 of 12 "down" A/C to "up" status just in time for the ground war. Never formerly recognized for that but he was recognized. Carma?
