Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) - Afghanistan
I was deployed to Helmand Province and operated on different COP's along Route Red between Marjah and Camp Dwyer. We were operating with a skeleton crew and I was a VC, Gunner, dismount, and any other position that needed to be filled. On Feb 7, 2011 our Squad hit an IED killing my driver LCPL Aaron Swanson and wounding my SL SGT Joseph Dietzel.
