Hospital patient. After promotion to Sergeant, was the Ward NCOIC. Responsibilities involved working party assignment and supervision, handling minor disciplinary issues. Was transferred to local Veterans Administration Medical Center for release from active duty on August 31.

Field Music/Sandbag Construction Engineer/ Perimeter Security
The D&B Corps performed at "County Fairs", outside military unit ceremonies, Morning Color ceremonies, moral performances throughout southern I Corps. Rotated with other in-country musical units to Okinawa performing the same type of duties. In addition to the performance schedule, rehearsal and practice. Spent about 40 percent of time on work parties mainly working with sandbag reinforcement of bunkers. Perimeter guard 2-3 nights per week. Occasional village search operations. Was wounded in a rocket attack resulting in a 40% disability rating. Along with other presumptive disabilities (Agent Orange exposure, Hepatitis C) was given a disability retirement with a rating of 90%.

Morning Colors and other support as directed.. Also, was a Sand Bag Bunker Construction Engineer. Interior Guard at III MAF headquesters. Local sweep operations in local villages.
