I served as senior medical advisor and active aircrew member for the SHAPE Helicopter Detachment. I was responsible for implementing and providing a comprehensive, aviation medical program that ensures flight exams, aeromedical safety education, flight-line and environmental health for the Detachments. I provided comprehensive medical care for 850 empanelled US patients as well as patients form the NATO and Partnership for Peace countries represented at SHAPE. Care included outpatient adult and pediatric medicine, minor surgery, preventive medicine, and psychiatric services. Served as a Medical Review Officer (MRO), Case Review Committee representative, and Competent Medical Authority (CMA) for the Personal Reliability Program (PRP) Officer, and Sexual Assault Forensic Medical Examiner.

Responsible for providing Level I medical care for 3877 Soldiers and civilians both in Bagram, Afghanistan and New York. Advised the Brigade Commander on all health, dental, preventive medicine, and field sanitation issues related to personal readiness. Planned combat health support and provided guidance to the Battalion Commanders on all medical issues to include: Medical Evacuation, MASCAL, Preventive Medicine, Combat Stress Control and Aviation Medicine. Oversaw Class VIII operations and medical training for the Task Force. As chief medical officer, I was responsible for 8 physicians, 8 Physician Assistants, and 56 Combat Medics. Provided primary care services to 200 Soldiers assigned to Alpha and Bravo Company, Warrior in Transition Battalion (WTB). Responsible for delivery of, coordination of, and referral for medical services and counseling to Soldiers recovering/healing form wounds or illness. Supervised and coordinated the Soldier’s care in conjunction with the Soldier Advocacy Group, Nurse Case Managers, Social Workers, Squad Leaders, and Physical/Occupational Therapy. Acted as a Medical Advisor to the WTB commander and was responsible for briefing the Pacific Regional Medical Command (PRMC) Commanding General monthly on Soldiers progress towards rehabilitation. Lectured on hypertension at Schofield Barracks Continuing Medical Education Lecture series, instructed the Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
