Military Experiences
Nov 2010 - Dec 2013
Commanding Officer
Unit Commanding Officer. I was fortunate to associate with truly an amazing group of sailors there--miss every one of them. Directed support to two separate commands, with operations provided at three separate sites in Washington State. Due to my deployment to Afghanistan, I had a one-year absence from 2011-2012, and was able to keep command an extra year. Especially love everything about Whidbey--beautiful.
Nov 2008 - Oct 2010
Regional Operations Officer
Directed and organized operations for NIOC reserve units in the western region supporting the active component, NIOC Hawaii (Kunia). My job was to get units effectively linked and providing effective support--tried hard to make sure each sailor was contributing and felt so. Recommended job for getting to know everyone; learned a lot. CAPT Vacura was a great boss.
Nov 2006 - Oct 2008
J2 Staff, PACOM
Staff Officer (IO officer representative), J2, PACOM, Camp Smith Hawaii. Worked extensively in liaison between PACOM and Japanese intelligence counterparts as advisor and interpreter. MSEL White Cell Intel manager in multiple Terminal Fury/Talisman Sabre and other exercises. FLAG-level interpreter during RIMPAC, and interpreter at key intel events. Emcee/planner of Asian-Pacific Intelligence Chiefs Conferences. Liaison between NIOC and J2 PACOM.

Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) - Afghanistan
Assigned to 82nd AB Division/RC South HQ, Kandahar Air Base. As an individual Navy augmentee within a large information effects effort, I directed IO effort related to Islam, and also oversaw Female Engagement Team training and IO support to stability operations. Amazing team--I miss them, and my Afghan/Jordanian counterparts.
Mar 2011 - May 2011
Operation Tomodachi
Assigned by PACOm to USFJ, J2, Yokota AB. Performed liaison between US/Japanese forces, high-level interpreting and translation assignments. Also organized relief operation on the side, and spent one month in the field caring for victims. Unforgettable experience.

South Korea
Korean linguist in the dark ages. Multichannel op/trainer. I miss the little old lady with the fried veggie stand in front of the Osan AB gate. I was the quarterback of the Baker Flight flag football team. Took my family, and we washed cloth diapers in ice cold water in February in our little place in Songtan. Love Korea.
