After boot camp and Aviation Electronics Technician school (AVA school) and Advanced First Term Avionics (AFTA) I made it to the fleet. My first 15 years in the fleet I worked as an AT in a supervisory role for most of that time serving as a shift supervisor, shop supervisor and leading petty officer. My last five years I was the COMVAQWINGPAC Training Program manager.

Training Program Manager
Training program manager responsible for authoring, implementing, administration and inspection of the maintenance training program for approximately 2,500 sailors. Maintained liaison between 14 aircraft squadrons and the Commodore of the WIng. Coordinated and edited the writing of nineteen personal qualification standard manuals in order to train junior sailors. Implemented the online training jacket to five of fourteen squadrons; was unable to complete the implentation due to retirement. Collateral duties: Command Urinalysis Coordinator, Anti-terrorism Officer and Squadron Readiness Officer.

Was leading of two different shops while on board. I was also hand picked to serve one year as the command IMRL manager. Solely responsible for approximately 14,200 individual piece of support equipment. I also coordinated the offload of approx 4000 F14 equipment and onload of an additional 6,000 FA18 pieces of equipment.
