Bio
My passion for Corrective Exercise/post rehab began in 2009 when my husband injured his back during his deployment to Afghanistan. Through his injury and inability to learn how to properly recover, I soon learned there was more to exercise then I realized. I spent a lot of time researching alternate pain management and found proper exercise is the best. I attended two years of college then a very intense year learning anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics in order to help my husband begin his recovery. Unfortunately I lost my husband during his recovery. As a veteran and a surviving spouse, I hold the military community near and dear to my heart. I feel that working on Fort Carson with service members, spouses, civilian personal is my way of honoring my husband and his sacrifice to our great country. I received my degree as an advanced personal trainer and nutrition consultant. I also became certified with National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) as a personal trainer (CPT), Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES), and Performance Enhancement specialist (PES). On my own aside from school, I also pursued a certification for Cancer Exercise Specialist. I have completed certifications in level one mat Pilates , Barre , and Core Align 1, all through Balanced Body. I've worked with military, veterans, PTSD, amputees, athletes, cancer survivors, and special populations such as children with Down syndrome and seniors. I'm confident in my abilities to increase strength, agility, and speed well applying science, biomechanics, physiology, and corrective movements to create a more capable athlete and/or to reduce pain and recovery.
