First assignment: 1/54 Inf at Bamberg, Germany; given company command responsibility while still a second lieutenant (1969). Next, US Army flight school then on to the Razorback Attack Helicopter Platoon (120th Aviation Company) as a combat aviator flying close fire support. Received accelerated promotion to Captain (1970) and Major (1976). Graduate school at CSU (banking & Finance), General Staff at FORSCOM HQ, Program budget Office Joined the Army Reserves in 1979. Combat decorations: Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry, Air Medal w/V; Bronze Star. Army Reserves, 1979.
