Chief Sonar Technician Submarines
Throughout my career I held various positions of increasing responsibilities and senior leadership roles on Fast Attack Submarines. In my last position I was directly responsible for 6 Los Angeles Class Fast Attack Submarine Sonar Divisions (90 personnel). At sea, I supervised, trained, qualified, and provided expert technical assistance to a division of 20 engineering technicians performing repair, maintenance, and operation on the primary submarine sonar systems, acoustic sensors, associated auxiliary equipment, and towed arrays. I also served as an Acoustic Analyst at the Office of Naval Intelligence and I studied at various naval schools in the art of safe submarine operating skills and practices, tactical oceanography, acoustic and sonar principles, and electronic theory.
