Led staff of 275 officers and enlisted men, managed six navy schools, in which over 30,000 students were trained annually in over 100 subject matter areas with technical, operational, and administrative content.
Spearheaded the design, and brought to fruition, several cost-saving projects, one of which reduced average training time for junior executive personnel from nine weeks to two weeks. The results were savings of over $4,200,000 annually, a simultaneous rise in training effectiveness, and more efficient employment of staff.

As a member of the original 17-man PURPLE DRAGON Team, traveled extensively within all four Tactical Corps Areas of Vietnam as well as Pacific Rim Countries participating in joint-service “OPSEC surveys".
Accompanied ground, sea, riverine, and airborne units of the U.S. Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force on combat operations, while conducting on-site observations, collecting data, and analyzing operational, administrative, and logistic support activities, to determine possible sources of enemy prior-awareness of friendly intentions.
Gathered, analyzed pertinent operational and administrative information that could be exploited by hostile interest, evaluated actions necessary to improve operations security.

On two lengthy deployments, operating independently, led 140 officers and men in a Tank Landing Ship of 4,100 tons full load displacement, plying the logistic support routes of the Western Pacific and South China Sea, including the coastal and riverine environments of the Viet Nam combat zone, primarily engaged in transporting war materials and personnel in direct support of the military and naval forces operating ashore in Viet Nam just south of the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone).
