Deck Division LPO
I came to the Silversides as a striker. I had a hard time picking a rate, but I qualified submarines in 7 months, and was well liked by the crew and officers. Since I would not choose a rate, I was serving as the sole Deck Div seaman for over a year. We had some new SN and SA come aboard so they made me deck div LPO, I was the only non NCO to act as a LPO on my boat. There I was in division meetings with 6's and CPOs. Was an interesting time in my life for sure. She was a good boat full of good men I would have laid my life down for.
