Assistant Squadron Superintendent
Oversaw maintenance/administrative operations of three flights, commander’s programs, support staff section and over 600 personnel from eight specialties. Enforced policy and program and procedure compliance to execute flying hour program and maximize fleet health.
Led Squadron’s aggressive unit self-inspection program and compliance sustainment on 63 high-interest programs; tracked and monitored deficiencies and improvement opportunities as well as reported accurate program status to higher level command authorities. Stalwart approach ensured the unit met the intent of authoritative guidance.
Steered unit’s flying hour program to include additional hours from Air Combat Command; maximized fleet utilization techniques which led to 900 flying hours in August 2014 which was the highest monthly total in 7 years & was pivotal in the squadron being the only unit in the major command to zero out the $117M/8.2K hour annual program.
Orchestrated initial operating capability off-site testing; generated 3 aircraft/40 employees/68 short tons of equipment in less than 12 hours. Actions were key in 12 surveillance missions, leading to the interception of 6 vessels & $33M narcotics seizure as well as operating certification 4 months ahead of schedule.
Paved the way in anticipation of 25% manning cut by championing 54 mandatory qualification tasks instrumental for technician cross-utilization, which expanded the organization’s maintenance expertise and flexibility by 80%.

Secured advanced Pratt & Whitney engine training for 120+ personnel; initiated long-term fleet health effects analysis study.

Forged 60 personnel from eight career fields into cohesive and efficient team in support of 27 aircraft worth $9.2B, organizational maintenance, 30 off- site operations and two forward operating deployed locations. Scrutinized quality assurance reports, performed root cause analysis, modified procedures and eradicated negative trends. Executed $17.4M budget for maintenance and procurement of 3,266 tools, vehicles and equipment. Showcased team proficiency during 2013 Air Combat Command Combined Unit Inspection; earned only Maintenance Group Team Award for outstanding performance which drove Squadron and Wing’s "Outstanding rating.
Led 2013 higher headquarters-directed Presidential Inauguration surveillance and secured 8,800 personnel and the President.
Enforced documentation standards, balanced section streamlining and reduced late performance report submissions by 66%.
Initiated root-cause analysis, initiated corrective measures which increased steadily improving quality assurance pass rates including 10% in the first month and a flawless no-notice command directed inspection from Air Force Reserve Command.

Orchestrated utilization of 82 instructors, four courses, and 25 programs, three training aircraft, 91 trainers, five equipment accounts and two hangars worth $475M to train over 3,400 avionics apprentices with 98% field supervisor satisfaction rate.
Analyzed future needs Strength/Weakness/Opportunity Threats; declined C-17 trainer offer and saved $2M in non-value added maintenance costs. Championed obsolete air data and fuel quantity trainer modernization upgrade projects $35K under budget to avert equipment failures and prevent training delays; garnered Squadron’s 2010 Support Supervisor of the Year award.
Overcame manning shortfall due to 45 mandatory base transfers, streamlined staffing by 2 months, extended six employees in-place, leaned qualification process, cross-utilized existing personnel and averted training delays for 200 students.
