In November 1984 Mr. Hunter was reassigned to Taskforce 160 at Ft. Campbell KY where he served as a Fully Mission Qualified, Flight Lead Pilot, MH-47D Standardization Instructor Pilot, (SIP), and Principal Joint Service Mission Planner until his retirement on Sept 30, 1991.

Aeroscout, CH-47 Instructor Pilot
In Jan 1982 Mr. Hunter was assigned to the “Aeroscout Branch” at Ft. Rucker AL where he served as an Initial Entry Aeroscout Instructor Pilot, teaching tactics, navigation, nighthawk, and NVG operations. He was then reassigned to the “Cargo Branch” where he served as an Instructor Pilot teaching the CH-47D model transition and Instructor Pilot courses. Mr. Hunter served on the team selected to develop and validate the 1st U.S. Army CH-47 NVG Instructor Pilot course, and in the fall of 1984 he trained and graduated the 1st U.S. Army Aviation Center approved CH-47 NVG Instructor Pilot.

In February 1978 he accepted a CH-47 transition and was assigned to the 242 Aviation Co (Sugarbears). 222 Aviation Bde, Ft Wainwright AK, where he served as a CH-47C pilot and member of the High Altitude Rescue, (HART) team.

Aeroscout Pilot
Mr. Hunter’s application was accepted and in January 1974 he was assigned to Ft. Rucker AL to attend Warrant Officer Rotary Wing Aviation Course where he graduated with honors. In Dec 1975 Mr. Hunter was assigned to D Troop 2/1 Cavalry at Ft Hood TX, where he served as an aero scout pilot.
