Once and Always a U.S. Marine - a title that is earned, never given. After almost 12.5 years in the Marine Corps, I chose to leave active duty as a Staff Sergeant of Marines. Later, I served an additional nine years in the Oregon Air National Guard, retiring in 2010 as an E-6.
