Base Newspaper Editor
After Class A School (Basic Journalism) a Fort Ben Harrison, IN, I was back at San Diego to start work as the editor of the base newspaper THE HOIST! It was an amazing tour of duty and I had a great time writing stories and taking photographs of young budding sailors getting ready for THE FLEET. Being interested in almost everything, I bounced from one end of the ship to the other over a period of three years. I looked at Quartermaster, Storekeeper, Hull Technician, and even Aerographer's Mate before ending up in the Engineering Office as a Yeoman prior settling on Navy Journalist.
