I joined in Feb. 1986 and went through basic at Ft. Knox. I attended AIT at Ft. Ben Harrison, IN and went to Ft. Huachuca until Feb. 1990. I left active duty and went to SD and joined the SDARNG 153d Eng Bn. while I went to college at SDSU. In 2000 I left the Engineers due to a bad back and joined the newly formed 727th Trans (PLS) at Elk Point, SD and deployed to Iraq in 2003. I retired in 2007.

Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF)
My unit was attached to the 1st Marine Div, 1st FSSG for 6 months, then sent to Truckville, at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait and spent the next 6 months with the Army.
I have been from Kuwait to Mosul, from Al-Kut to Al-Qaim and most places in between. I hauled everything from ammunition and vehicles to mail and sodas. I drove a PLS and a HETT.
