Operation Uphold Democracy (Haiti)
JTF 180 (82nd Airborne Division), the allied forces were alerted for a forced entry into Haiti. A delegation persuaded the leaders of Haiti to step down & allow the elected officials to return to power. More than 15,000 paratroopers were less than 2 hours away from jumping into combat. Within minutes, GENl Cédras capitulated under favorable terms.
