I began my career as a cryptologic technician, stationed at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. I was accepted into MECEP, and commissioned in December 1981. I was a platoon commander with Third Assault Amphibian Battalion, First Marine Division, Camp Pendleton, CA. From there, I was a guard officer at Adak, Alaska. I finished my Marine career at P.I., S.C. I then spent 11 years as a tanker in the S.C.N.G.
