Bio 

Once I left the Navy, I worked as an auto mechanic. I started as a general mechanic, and worked my way up to head mechanic at a small tow yard. I broke with the auto industry in '89 to work in electronics at my family's business, doing logic design work and programming. In '98 I returned to towing as head of fleet maint., remainig there til 2007. I retired due to disability from old Navy injuries.

Deployed aboard USS Hoel DDG13. Was made PO in charge of the Guided missile Launching System Mk. 11 Mod. 0 during this deployment. RE-Enlisted this deployment for change in rate from Gunners Mate Missiles to Gunners Mate Guns and 5/54 Mk. 42 mods. 9&10 class"C" school.

Western Pacific
Deployed aboard USS Hoel DDG13 as Gunners Mate (Missiles). Worked on GMLS Mk. 11 Mod. 0 and 5/54 Mk. 42 Mod. 10 Guns. Stood underway watch on the bridge, and Duty Gunners Mate in port. Injured this deployment during anchoring evolution off Karachi Pakistan when anchor chain was dropped on my right foot. Never fully recovered from this injury.

Seaman, 1st Div, USS Truett, FF1095. Spent most of my time on hull maintenance. (chipping and sanding paint, and painting) Stood underway watch on the bridge, and in port watch on the quarterdeck as messenger of the watch.
