Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI)
CDI's Are accountable to the quality assurance officer and aircraft maintenance officer within the Maintenance Department. These QARs, CDQARs. and CDls are fundamentally responsible for the prevention of the occurrence of defects. The concept embraces all events from the start of the maintenance operation to its completion. They must possess a detailed, working knowledge of all Navy-sponsored aviation maintenance programs and processes governed by COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790 (series) .
