I was retired from the VA. in 1996 for Combat caused Disability. 240% Retired and service connected.
Former Deputy Sheriff Spartanburg County. I had 28 Jobs in 22 years some lasted almost all day! Counseling Veterans was my last and I felt I was finally helping someone. 11 years on it.

Former Platoon Sargant
I was assigned as a Drill Sargant to 2nd Platoon Co B 1st Bn. 11th Mech. Infantry. Took them through Basic and AIT. Started forming a Combat ready company. I was transferred to Ft Jackson, S.C. to Committee Group assigned to 118th Airborne as a Drill Sargant.

Vietnam War
I was a Squad Leader for 3rd Platoon and worked various Infantry duties in Combat. I ran patrols and search and recon patrols as well as ambushing and intelligence gathering from dead enemy soldiers to turn over to the Platoon Leader!

Vietnam War
In 1965, I was a volunteer Doorgunner, called a Shotgun Rider on ShotgunX. I was detached TDY to 118th Avn. Co. at Bein Hoa. In 1966 I had just returned from Vietnam to the 25th Division and assigned to Co A 1/14th Infantry Golden Dragons. We were alerted and moved out for another Tour in Vietnam with the 3rd Brigade Task Force to Pleiku.Vietnam
