Cold war soldier. Spent time at Ft. Campbell and in Nuremberg. Got out and did army reserve in a USAR school. Spent most of my time as an E5 slotted in an E8 position (senior team instructor) in a MOS reclass platoon. Left active reserve after camp coming into my senior year of college. That was 17 days before Saddam Hussain invaded Kuwait. I finally ETSed on 17nov90

CSM driver/aide and battalion courier. Drove around suburban Nuremberg picking up documents. Picked up new service members at end of the day in downtown. Occasionally moved secure documents over the road.

Armorer

My BF was the Armorer. I helped him off duty and learned 2nd level maintainence. 10 days before the IG inspection, CoC found out Ted had entered the army on a fraudulent enlistment. He immediately lost his security clearance, of course lol. The chain of command went into a full out panic. So one night, while the company was having a GI party in the barracks for the inspection, the chain of command was in the arms room, trying to prep the room. I had to go in to ask my PSG something and I leaned over his shoulder and said something about the weapon he was inspecting.... The CO said "Specialist Friedman, how the hell do you know that much about that weapon system?". I explained that the former Armorer was my best friend and I used to help him.... I was the Armorer the next day.
