Fire Direction Control Center, Non-Commissioned Officer/Senior Supervisor
As a Sergeant in the Fire Direction Control center my job was to manage the 13 Marines under my charge to ensure safe, timely, and accurate artillery fire to units in contact with enemy forces. The FDC is the nerve center of the battle space. It is as hectic as an air traffic control tower, with the added responsibility of coordinating and controlling our unit’s firepower flow down range.

Assistant Squad Leader Personal Protection Detail
While deployed in Iraq I served as assistant squad leader on a Personal Security Detail. My job was to lead, train, and carry out protective detail operations for senior officers and VIPs in the Al Anbar province. Managing 10 subordinates in often chaotic and austere environments where the threat of violence was commonplace.
