Squad Leader
Squad leader, went to DC for riot control, spring riots of 1968, Summer of '68 taught basic training to the incoming plebes at West Point MA. Greatest achivement was surviving garrison duty without losing my hard earned stripes ( I went to VN out of jump school).

I went to VN as a Pioneer Engineer, Airborne quailified, was assigned to A Troop 2/17th Cavalry, 1st Brigade, 101st Airborne Div, II Corps. I was put into a Infantry squad, 2nd Platoon, and my MOS was changed to 11B4P allowing me to EARN the CIB. I went from PFC E-3 to Sgt. E-5, and was often placed in positions above my pay grade.
