Bio

Joined 1/11 HQ Battery in 2006. Deployed to TQ, Iraq '07-'08. PCA'd to CLR-17 upon my return. Volunteered to PCA to CLB-7 in 2009 for another deployment to Sahl Sinjar, Iraq. One week prior to my original EAS, I was "voluntold" to interview for IMEF CG's Driver/PSD. I was extended for one year to travel with the IMEF CG as his PSD, back and forth to Afghanistan for a 2 week in, 2 week out rotation

Military Experiences

Nov 2010 - Aug 2011
1st HQ
Command Driver/Personal Security Detail
Driver/Personal Security Detail for LtGen Waldhauser, IMEF CG. Spent about one year traveling back and forth to Afghanistan with the CG. It was a great experience in the sense that I got to see 20+ countries in our travels. It was a bad experience in the sense that I hated going to Afghanistan for only a week or two at a time, and then have to leave our Marines to go back to the states. I just wanted to stay in country with the others every time we were there. We'd travel for 2 weeks, be stateside for 2 weeks, then travel again.
Oct 2008 - Nov 2010
Commo Co
Data Chief
"Backyard" field ops... lame, lame, very lame... No organization whatsoever. A field op isn't a field op if I can still see a PX across the street. Took every chance I could to get away. Unfortunately, I only got the one chance with CLB 7.
Feb 2009 - Sep 2009
H&S Co
Network Technician
Volunteered to PCA to this unit for another deployment. We were a small communications detachment in Camp Pendleton before we finally met the unit in Twentynine Palms. Once in Iraq, I volunteered to go north to Sahl Sinjar with 6 communications Marines. I was placed as communications chief while there. Provided communications support for operations conducted by 3rd LAR.
Jul 2006 - Oct 2008
HQ Battery
Network Technician
Field ops, field ops, and more field ops... Loved it... Deployed to Al Taqaddum, Iraq in 2006. Ended up getting extended for extra 4 months due to lack of a replacement unit. Provided network administration for the HQ Battery staff.
