Southwest Asia
Participated in Operations Desert Shield/Desert Storm and Southern Watch. Also partcipated in UN actions in the former Czech Rupublic. While deployed, I worked three months in the ships laundry. Then three months in the scullery as TAD (Temporary Additional Duties). After my assigned shift I would voluntarily work a few extra hours with my squadrons airframe and hydraulics shop. Upon completion of my TAD commitment, I worked as a plane captain preflight inspecting and post flight inspecting FA-18C Hornets. After completing six months in this capacity, I worked in the airframe and hydraulic shop of VFA-82. My additional duties that I performed were that of publications petty officer and shop tool petty officer. As a petty officer, I was also tasked with leading maintenance crews in performing routine preventative maintenance and required emergency maintenance of the assigned aircraft.
