KC-135 Crew Chief
Aircraft Maintenance Specialists for the KC-135R. Was responsible for all pre-flight and post-flight maintenance issues as well as updates to flight records and equipment. Worked refurbishment and replacement for interior flight controls, structural parts, interior safety equipment and scheduled maintenance.
Assigned to the training manager position due to injury and was responsible for a 300 man unit’s training and pre-deployment safety training. Also provided the unit commander with information on troop readiness in the event of full deployment to a theater of combat, such as Desert Storm/Shield. Unit was active in no fly zone support in both conflicts. Also shut down the 28ARS unit at Ellsworth AFB and was last to leave when AF shut us down and locked the doors for the last time.
