I was placed in a mortar platoon fresh out of BCT. I worked hard to move my way up from driver to ammo bearer. After I had proven my ability to handle more responsibility I was promoted to assistant gunner and when I had learned the gunners job I was tested and promoted to base gun's gunner position. I have completed missions where I have had to take on a squad leaders role when he was indisposed
