Military Experiences
Jan 1977 - Jun 1979
Engineering Petty Officer
I have worked in both engine rooms. Qualified for all watches within 6 weeks of coming aboard. I was the Engineering lesion Non-Com responsible for ordering spare parts, fuel, and oil and ran the engineering office. I was responsible for all equipment removed from the ship during its DeComm. I guess my most major accomplishments were scoring a 3.88 on the MM3 test In 1978 and taking on the Engineering office and getting it squared away. That was a tough job on an old Tin Can with a very limited budget and allotments.
Deployments
(1 year)Jan 1976 - Dec 1976
NS Adak AK
Assigned to Base Fire Dept. assigned duty to Fire company in charge of NBC EMR Contamination for arms movements between Armory and Tarmack. Also as first responders to any emergencies on the island. I guess my major accomplishment is I was advanced from Hoseman to Engineer in March 76 and from FA to FN.
