90230 Basic AIR FORCE MEDIC
1st half of 4yr stint. 1 of 16 of the 1st Group of EMTs EVER TRAINED IN THE MILITARY! MAR '75I was sent 2 Torrejon AFB just outside of MADRID. I continued 2 work on at that time becoming a "PARAMEDIC" now in the AF it's called PARA-RESCUER I think?
I had 3 areas of responsibilities
1 work if directed at/4 the Upper Echelon Med Sprt Grp sent by flight surgeon 2 cover 4 a Medic assigned 2 the European Heirarchy (U.S. Gens & Admls mostly pill pushing)
2 work where directed in the hospital as a Float Medic
3. ATH (AIR TRANS HOSP) a Fly in2 a place MASH Unit.
I was the NCOIC duties were scheds, directing & Overseeng Medics, when deployed, keeping track of ALL incoming & out going PPE, Linens, scrubs, instruments, syringes back then they were glass, & a lot more intricate materials!
