Data Processing Operator
Stationed at the Ordnance Depot in Vilseck Germany where I processed requisitions for troops training at the &th Army Training Center at Grafenwhor, Germany. Attended the Data Processing school at Ft. Harrison, Indiana then the majority of the graduating class was sent to Kiaserslatern Germany and then we were dispatched to several bases in Europe, November 1962 I was sent stateside and assigned to Brooklyn Army Terminal.

Port of Baltimore, Maryland
I was sent TDY to the Port of Baltimore, assigned to FT Holabird, and worked at the Army Office at the Port. Here I was charged with overseeing the loading of surplus military equipment, (trucks, ambulances, jeeps, construction vehicles, and even some armor) onto cargo ships to transport to foreign countries. I provided the ship's manifest after assuring all equipment was on board and ready for transport, and delivered the manifest to the ship's captain. I was discharged from the Army when my assignment ended at this location.

Brooklyn Army Terminal
I was assigned to clerical duties during my short stint at BART. I was married and my wife accompanied me to Brooklyn, where we lived at Sea Gate on Coney Island and later moved up to Bay Ridge in Brooklyn to be closer to my work. I watched the building of the Verazzano Bridge, and couldn't comprehend how they found workers to string the cables across the channel.
