Bio
I am a retired CE1, I left the Navy Seabees in November of 2011, I graduated from college the same year in May. The Seabees sent me to Australia for 20 days and back to Iraq more times than I care to count. While I was active duty the first time I was an MM3 on the USS Cape Cod AD-43. I met my ship in Persian Gulf and from there every deployment was back to the Gulf 3 deployments on the tin can.
Military Experiences
Apr 2006 - Dec 2010
NMCB 28
I came to NMCB 28 as a CE3 and worked my way of the field when I put on CE2 I was running the jobs the Army wanted done. I also got to run a bulldozer, and a dump truck (only because it was a stick). I was also Career Counselor (CC) for a debt. Then we got word we were going to Guam. By the time we left I was a CE2.
Sep 1991 - Apr 1994
I was a snipe in the engine room, I started as the messenger, then move to the upper level man where I tore my tendon in my ankle. I ran OPIE drills barely able to walk. I also drove a stick so shifting was a real pain. Back on the ship, the drills were canceled because the ship should have never taken me out. I should have surgery. No, the ship had to have me. We the team can back on the tin can I was at my game and we got passed with flying colors. Then back to the gulf. We went back a year later I was running the EVAPs. For those that do not know what that is, it takes sea water and makes it drinkable and provides the water to fireroom to make steam for the engine room. On our way home we stopped in Ja-abale and as we left our tin can gave the right away to a empty cargo ship

This deployment we did go over the international date line, I ate green eggs and bacon. Green OJ and that was it for me. The safety officer took me around because He and I were friend. I had it easy but I almost went over board when they sprayed me with the fire hose to clean me off. I was never so happy when DC1 grabbed me.
