Bio 

Dentist in the U.S. Navy for 9 years, and loved it. Singularly nominated to be our Dental Corps' Admiral's Aid, selected as 1 of 120 military escorts for a Presidential Inauguration, deployed aboard the USS Saratoga for the 1st Gulf War. Selected for Prosthodontic residency at NNDC/Bethesda, but chose training Out-Service and immediately recruited by USAF. Served w/USAF 19 years. MBA followed.

Director, Prosthodontic Education, Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency (AEGD) • Supervised 80 staff members, and 12 lab technicians. Langley A.F.B. voted "Best Large Dental Clinic" in Air Force-2010. Retired January 2016. Awarded Air Force Meritorious Service Medal • Personally treated 12,000+ patients; presented 206 lecture hours, covered resident's clinic 2,066 hours. Trained 71 residents in a year-long AEGD program. 102 total residents trained over career • Organized annual Sirona Dental CAD/CAM training for 6 Residents/6 staff dentists at the cost of $10K/year. Team leader responsible for $60K electric dental handpiece purchase, making Langley Dental Clinic the first in USAF to upgrade to 100% electrical dental handpiece usage, significantly improving treatment quality.

Promoted to Lieutenant Colonel-Aug 2000. • Appointed to serve as the Deputy Commander of an Expeditionary Medical Support System (EMEDS)/60 pre-deployment medics, Brook Army Medical Center, TX. • Trained 18 AEGD Residents at Langley AFB. • Volunteered for deployment on 9/11, and was the second AF Prosthodontist selected to deploy. • First AF Prosthodontist appointed Deputy Commander of Medical Team/EMEDS Unit; deployed on 38 hours' notice to Prince Sultan Air Base (PSAB), Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for War on Iraq.

Prince Sultan Air Base (PSAB), Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Jan 2003-Feb 2003 • Appointed, Officer-in-Charge during the building of 120 tents at Tent-City, PSAB. The medical Team built 120 tents in two days with 30 medics, 14 hours/day in record heat. The Team received a Letter of Commendation from the Base Commander.

• Deputy Commander and Commanding Officer of 132-member medical team forward deployed to Tabuk Air Base. As the OIC, I supervised the building of 339-tent Tent-City under Bare-Base conditions and construction of a 13-tent Surgical Field Hospital in 48 hours. Hospital supplied and ready in 24 hours, 24 hours before the start of the War on Iraq.
