Out processed, leaving for home, Warren OH, driving my pov one last time. Out 2 months early thanks to Budget cuts. Once back in the World, lived an exciting life. Now at age 57, I look back to those days with amazement at what that young man was capable. The best shape of my life, benching 305 lbs. Running hoops nonstop, full contact Football while in W. Germany. Player Coach:Called my own plays as QB and drew up our offensive playbook, taught it with chalk talks, and on practice field daily. Met some amazing athletes, and appreciated their respect for me, expressed when I got my orders, and had to depart midseason...It was memorable. One of the best days I've experienced... Comradery!!!

Spec-4 assigned to The COMMEL Department. Ojt'd repairing Radios., As no TacFire equipment was available in Darmstadt W.Germany.
Worked in COMMEL Department. Ojt'd on FM radio repair. Keeping backlog from our shelves, back into service for
the engineers we supported. Lots of travel, both throughout Germany, including Berlin, and half a dozen other European countries, including Austrian Alps, skiing in Caphrun (sp), London, England, Paris, France, Spain, Switzerland, and more. Enjoyed record breaking value of US Dollar exchange rate. Over 4 W. German Marks, per Dollar. Got up to around 4.5 to 1. Hit many fests.... especially enjoyed KinderFest right there in Darmstadt each Christmas Season.

Lots of fun. Baltimore Inner Harbor, The Baltimore Colts in old Memorial stadium vs The Bills. The Orioles winning the World Series. Tour of DC. Intent on seeing The Great Gretzky, as Edmonton visited The Capitals at The Cap Center. Crazy Horse bar, on Campus of local College, which slips my memory currently. Eager to move on to 2nd half of Training at Fort Sill, Lawton, OK...
