Bio
I was born with an ID card in my mouth as my father was an Army chaplain and veteran of WWII, Korea, and Viet Nam. He now lies in Arlington National. I was commissioned through ROTC at William and Mary in 1967 and served on active duty from August 1968 till November 1971 serving in Germany, Italy, and Ethiopia. Subsequently I was a military contractor for most of the rest of my working career.

Deployments
Balkans and the Middle East
As a Univ of Maryland professor, in the early 90s I was deployed to Incirlik, Turkey during the 1st Gulf War and again in the 2nd Gulf War. Then I was deployed to Taszar, Hungary in 1996. Then in 1997 to Slavonski-Brod, Croatia. Then to Brcko, Bosnia in 1998. In 2002, I was deployed to Doha, Kuwait. In 2006, I was deployed to Doha, Qatar.
