Joined the Navy in 1987 and retired as a Combat Action Veteran in 2007. I've been around the world 2 times and am grateful to my 1st duty station leaders for guiding and mentoring me into a highly successful career. I was detailed to several independent duty assignments as a "fixer" that limited my sea-duty deployments. That was the only thing missing that would have helped me make E7 or above.
