I joined the Army in December of 1978 in the Delayed Entry Program while in high school. I shipped out to basic training in June of 1979 and began a long career with the Army, completing 20 years, 8 months, and 10 days of honorable service to my country. I served first as a 15D10 (Lance Missile Crewmember) for 13 years and reclassed into 11M20 (Bradley Fighting Vehicle) and was promoted to SFC.
