I was just 17 years old when I enlisted in the Army just after graduating from high school in June 1967. I was acting corporal squad leader in Basic Training at Fort Knox, Kentucky. I was honor graduate at AIT 05B radio school at Fort Jackson, SC. Then I was stationed in Hanau, Germany for 8 months where I made PFC. Then I was sent to Vietnam to serve with the 4th Bn 31st Inf where I made SGT.

Served as RTO with HHC & D Co on LZ West and Hiep Duc AO......I was in a 3 year enlistment....I also served 8 months in Hanau, Germany with the 568th Engineer Company before I was sent to Nam....I enlisted in the Army on my 17th birthday just after graduating from high school....I was promoted to SGT E5 in Vietnam when I was just 19 yrs old.
