Platoon/Gunnery Sergeant
Duties: Develop and administer the Battery Artillery Gunnery Program. Plan, prepare and execute collective training activities for the Battery. Responsible for battle tracking troop, supply, and enemy movements as part of operating in the field. Supervise firing battery personnel during artillery firing, maintenance, and training. Serve as technical subject matter expert to troops during fire missions. Coordinate and facilitate training on training schedule. Maintain detailed records of individuals receiving technical training and gunnery skills training. Review, consolidate and prepare technical, personnel, and administrative reports covering firing battery activity. Serve as subject matter expert and ready reference on statistical data and regulations pertaining to artillery training. Regularly observe and facilitate training being administered to ensure compliance with regulations and Military Occupational Specialty requirements. Report results of various trainings to supervisor verbally and in writing. Coordinate logistical support for troop movements and convoys and serve as the commander's representative throughout the troop movements. Coordinate scheduling of various trainings and troop development. Coordinate and ensure military personnel receive training in common tasks as required by regulations. Write and revise Standard Operating Procedures. Assist Battery Executive Officer in developing yearly training schedule. Prepare reports of training for the Battery Commander.

ACTIVE DUTY trained for deployment to Kuwait as part of the Military Engagement
Team, which made information sharing engagements with foreign militaries in Asia. After completing the training but prior to traveling to Kuwait I injured my knee and was sent to the Warrior Transition Unit at Fort Drum NY, to rehabilitate my knee.

Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF)
ACTIVE DUTY deployment to Iraq in support of IOF (9/19/08 to 11/22/09) appointed by Battery Commander as the Unit Behavioral Health Advocate (UBHA), duties included training over 100 troops in suicide prevention, addressing troops mental health challenges during the deployment and giving mental health briefings as part of the redeployment back home. Stopped one soldier from actively trying to commit suicide, and escorted the individual to Germany for mental health treatment. Escorted soldier with homicidal ideations through a 5 day Restorative Clinic, which taught coping skills including anger management, stress management, and various relaxation techniques. Other Deployment duties included: Company Intelligence Support Team (requiring a Secrete security clearance), Senior Sergeant in charge of 35 personnel shooting combat Artillery Fire Missions (one month), acting First Sergeant, Senior Tactical Operation Center Non Commissioned Officer (NCO), Escort for 4 soldiers traveling to Bagdad for U.S. naturalization, Linguist “terp” manager, Pay Agent (managing Army petty cash), Operational Security Manager, and Safety NCO.

ACTIVE DUTY in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from 12/18/03 to 3/16/05.
Successfully completed training for Military Police MOS at Ft. Dix N.J. In charge of unit which escorted over 175 troop convoys to several base camps within Kuwait without incident or accident over a 7 month period. In charge of team that did not miss a single movement. Army Central Command, Qatar. Assumed duties of Provost Marshall Office Senior Enlisted Adviser assisting Provost Marshall in charge of post security for 5 months.
